A warning has been issued after rogue traders scammed people out of thousands after "fixing" potholes.

It comes after two incidents where businesses were approached by cold callers to fill potholes in their car parks.

The businesses discovered the cold callers had then commenced work retarmacking the entire car park.

The cold callers then became aggressive demanding payments of up to £10,000 for their "work" and threatening to "dig up the car park" if the payment wasn't made.

The county council's Norfolk Trusted Trader group has warned businesses in Norfolk to be careful of these cold callers, who targeted firms in Suffolk, especially in rural areas.

Anyone who sees these cold callers in Norfolk or is concerned about rogue trader activity should contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133 or Norfolk Constabulary via 101.
